COMMON CONFLICTS INSIDE THE HAIR BRAIDING SHOPS.
1) Clients and braiders don't speak the same language.
In fact most of the braiders are not fluent in English and have the tendency to communicate among themselves in African dialect.
2) Many of the shop require the customers to pay, before any work is done.
That practice seems rude to clients who want to be trusted, but experience has proven in many instances that once the work is done and the customer still has the money in their pocket they always bargain for less.
3) Sharing the T.V time.
Because of the language barrier, the braiders like to watch Tapes or D.V.D's, sent to them by family members in Africa, celebrating a variety of social events. In the other hand, the customers would expect to watch their favor T.V. show. That situation always ends up creating a conflict.
4) During the summer, when the air conditioning is on, it is either to cold for the braiders or to hot for the customers.
5) Finally, the two groups will argue about everything, from the quality of hair provided, the comb not being sanitized properly,to the shop not clean enough and so on...
The lesson to learn here is that after all the drama, the work is done and the customer will make her next appointment with the same braider and I am sure they will argue again.

Also it originate from Africa, this style is popular in the west indies. It is entirely natural.
We do not use any hair extension. When someone want to start a dread,we prefer the hair to be clean of any perm. If it does, the hair won't lock or will do only for a very short period of time, which means a west of money. The cost of doing it vary from $60 to $100. The maintenance is required at least every month for as little as $50.

THE NEAT KINKY TWIST.
When I look at this style,I see two thinks. 1) a short and neat dread lock. 2) a natural hair style that some ethnic groups wear in east Africa. The style can be short or long and is not to be confused with the Senegalese Twist. It will take about four hours for the short and about six hours for the long version to be done by a professional braider. The texture of the hair used gives the customers the natural look they actually want.
Here is a variety of that hair do.
